Good Old Harmony-Driven, Roots Rock N' Roll
Call it folk roots with a hint of country. Lowcountry rock; whatever. How about just good old harmony-driven, roots rock n' roll. With three albums under their belts, over 7,000 albums sold independently, and a rapidly growing fan base, Stewart & Winfield are the South's answer to the No Depression, Midwestern sound. Their song-oriented music consists of strong harmony vocals and like the South itself represents a constant meshing of styles and influences that are pleasing to the ear.

Winfield Smith and Stewart Marshall performed and developed their songwriting as a duo in Athens, GA and Colorado ski towns from 1989-1994. Touring the Southeast as a five-piece band for the last several years, Stewart & Winfield continue to win fans, young and old, with their live performances. In June 2000 S & W returned to Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana showcasing their songs, teeming with originality, too country for rock radio and too rock to be labeled country.

Another Round LIVE
Their most recent effort, "Another Round ~ Live" (Catatonia) released June 2001, captures the live Stewart & Winfield experience with songs from the previous three albums recorded at the Georgia Theatre in Athens. Following the live release the band finished the summer recording in Nashville for a 2002 release and touring the east coast to Maine |
